Master Chess Teacher
Will Amner is a dedicated chess instructor and tutor originally from the UK. After leading group classes of 20+ students, he now focuses on one-on-one coaching to support individual growth and strategy development. A 1500-rated player and founder of the weekly Dana Point Chess Club at Stillwater Spirits & Sounds, Will brings passion, focus, and international flair to every lesson.

Teaching Experience:
Taught classes of 20+ independently over a semester; I’ve now moved onto 1 on 1 tutoring which has allowed more time and attention to individual development and teaching style.
Chess Experience:
1500 rated player, began in 2020 during College and became obsessed in 2023. Later I founded a weekly club here in Dana Point at Stillwater Spirits & Sounds.
Short Term Goals:
Setup and enjoy a new life here in California, develop towards a 1600 rating and to start working towards long-term career goals.
Long Term Goals:
Continue exploring the world, develop a career in government and develop as a chess player in future tournaments etc.
