Elsie Long teaches piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and drums at Danman’s Music School, bringing a versatile background in concert band, marching band, and choir. As the current front ensemble section leader at Dana Hills High School, Elsie has experience guiding fellow musicians and loves showing students the limitless possibilities of music. Passionate about rock, jazz, funk, and soul, Elsie’s goal is to inspire creativity and eventually compose original music. Fun fact: she knows nearly every word of the 14-minute opening of Into the Woods!

Teaching Experience:
Elsie began teaching through academic tutoring and quickly transitioned into music education. She has helped train new band members in both concert and marching band at Dana Hills High School, where she currently serves as the section leader of the front ensemble.
Performing Experience:
Elsie has performed extensively in choir, as a percussionist in concert band, and as a pianist with the DHHS marching band.
Music Style:
While she enjoys a bit of everything, Elsie gravitates toward rock, jazz, funk, and soul both as a listener and performer.
Short-Term Goals:
To show students the limitless possibilities that music can provide and foster their growth as confident, expressive musicians.
Long-Term Goals:
Elsie hopes to compose her own original music and continue growing as a multi-instrumentalist and educator.
