Always
provide an instrument for your child to practice on. The better
the instrument, the better for your kids success.
You
can rent most instruments, but we recommend buying an instrument
so the student has a vested long term interest in mastering it.
Use
incentives when purchasing a higher quality instrument. Tell your
child you will get the better instrument after they have shown
they will go to lessons and practice for an agreed upon time frame,
3 months for example. In the meantime they will use a good "entry
level" instrument.
When
buying your childs instrument, we recommend buying two instruments
so the parent can join along and bond with the child by experiencing
the process of learning and taking lessons together if at all
possible. You will make life long memories doing this. Its well
worth the investment. |
