Jayson
Diorio Jayson has performed in such shows as “The Odd Couple”, Grease”, “Arsenic and Old Lace”, “Deathtrap”, “Godspell”. These accomplishments afforded Jayson many scholarship opportunities from highly acclaimed colleges and universities nationwide including Juliard, Marymount Manhattan and Miami University. Jayson attended Loyola University and received a B.A. degree in Theatre and Music with a minor in business. While at Loyola, Jayson performed in one show per semester, including but not limited to “Deathtrap”, Welcome to the Moon”, “Hamlet” and was also cast in the nationwide tour of “The Commitments”. In 1993 he was NAIA’s College Pitcher of the year . After College Jayson toured the country with NYC’s S.T.A.R. Theater and landed on Broadway in “Over the Edge” and “On The Verge”. Jayson composed the original score for Edward Albee’s “The Playmakers Tour” for Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasato, Florida and toured for one year with the company. Other credits include “Jesus Christ Superstar”, Miss Saigon, RENT and various others. Jayson can also be seen in the PBS documentary “Sex and Other Matters of Life and Death”, “Brotherhood” and “Too Far”. For the past three years Jayson has been performing as a Pianist/Singer in various San Diego hotels/resorts, such as The Bahia, The Catamaran, La Valencia Hotel and Jacks. Jayson now teaches piano and acting at Danman’s Music in Dana Point, California while pursuing his dream of a record deal. |
